Official Celebration of the Sixtieth Anniversary
of the Founding of the United Nations
in San Francisco, June 25 and 26, 2005

Enhancing the Vital Role of the United Nations will be the theme marking the observation of the sixtieth year of the founding of the United Nations in San Francisco. Led by the United Nations Association of San Francisco, in cooperation with the United Nations, the City and County of San Francisco, the Saga Foundation, and many community leaders and organizations, plans are underway to celebrate the chartering with four main events. In attendance will be 50 to 75 former heads of state from around the world as well as Bay Area leaders.

There are a number of opportunities available for Sponsors to gain valuable exposure at these high-profile events.

Sponsorship levels range from $1,000 to $25,000. The United Nations Association of San Francisco is a chapter of UNA of the USA, a non-profit organization, Federal Tax ID #23-7010438. All donations are tax deductible. Sponsorship donations should be made payable to "UNA ­ SF" and mailed to United Nations Association of San Francisco, 3107 Sacramento Street, San Francisco, CA 94115-2005. Keynote address by a high-level official. Discussion of the UN Millennium Goals (MDGs). $75 ticket price will include program and afternoon tea. For security reasons, all attendees will be credentialed in advance. Expected attendance, 400.

Cocktail Reception
5:30 to 8:00 pm
University Club, Nob Hill
VIP reception for UN60 dignitaries, including program participants, Bay Area, state, and federal government of officials, and members of the San Francisco Consular Corps. $125. Price includes open bar, hors d 'oeuvres, entertainment, and 1945 photographic exhibition, courtesy of the San Francisco Fine Arts Museums. For security reasons, all attendees will be credentialed. Expected attendance, 400.

Sunday, June 26

World Celebration
11:00 am to 12:00 noon
Grace Cathedral, Nob Hill
A musical celebration with choirs, trumpet fanfare, and orchestra. Address by H.E.Mary Robinson, former President of Ireland. Ceiling sculpture, Tongues of Fire, by Nancy Chin. Complimentary reception for service attendees on the patio immediately following. Free and open to the public, by advance reservation only. Expected attendance,1380.

Closing Luncheon
12:30 to 2:30 pm
Fairmont Hotel, Nob Hill
Keynote address by a world leader. $150, by advance purchase only (includes lunch and program). For security reasons, all attendees will be credentialed in advance. Expected attendance, 420.
