Unity Foundation in the Mission District Local Community-Building Programs Unity Foundation organizes a weekly street cleaning program with the Bureau of Streets and Environmental Services of the Department of Public Works. Local youth join foundation staff in regular graffiti paint-outs and periodic tree plantings in and around our neighborhood. Click here for more pictures! Unity Foundation hosts two Annual Dinner Events: aThanksgiving Dinner and a Christmas Party where Santa Claus will be handing out brand-new gift-wrapped toys to all the children) and a weekly cooking class for youths in cooperation with the Mission Recreation Center of the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department and the San Francisco Food Bank. Click here for more pictures! Unity Foundation organized a series of three local Unity Fairs in the San Francisco Mission District to celebrate the neighborhood's vibrant multi-cultural diversity. The series of Unity Fairs '96-'98 was co-produced by Unity and Cesar Chavez Elementary School, Global Exchange, the Mission Recreation Center of the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department and Queenie Taylor.
