and Fire of 1906
The first lecture in the "Story of
San Francisco" Lecture Series was presented at the Year
2001 Birthday Celebration honoring the 154th Anniversary of the
Naming of the City of San Francisco. This special event took
place Tuesday, January 30th, 2001 in the South Light Court of
City Hall, between the hours of 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Mayor Willie
Brown spoke at this commemorative event. Gladys Hansen, Founder
and Curator of the Museum of the City of San Francisco, spoke
on the unique and inspiring stories of the refugees of the Great
Earthquake and Fire of 1906.
